OOC: Isabel vs. Juudai log

[Isabel is the first Action Duel Champion! Hooray!

After she's finished celebrating in the ring (which mostly just consisted of limping around the field showing the belt off and letting people take pictures on their phone), Isabel is backstage. She's laying on an athletic training bed, her chest and leg are wrapped up. The belt is over her shoulder. She looks like she's in pain, but she doesn't even care. Only close friends or family are gonna get to see her here.

But after she gets checked out and cleared to leave, anybody else who wants to see her can get a chance, either at Sakana or on her way home.

She's gonna wanna celebrate. But she's also pretty freakin' exhausted and on some decent painkillers. So. Gonna have to keep things restrained for tonight.]

He's not saying anything though. She needs to rest. He can always lavish praise and affection on his daughter later.

He had to stop the water works first, though.]

[Isabel's just barely stopped crying herself. As she lays in the athletic bed, getting her leg checked out, she looks up at Cain.]

...m'sorry you couldn't see it when I did this back home.

[Despite that, she has an exhausted smile on her face.]

[ He's probably waiting right by the entrance to Sakana, wearing a suit and tie, hand in a pocket as he's smiling. He's not looking at her, but the fact that he's beaming ear to ear means he can tell who's showed up. ]

So, do I get an invite to the celebration party when it happens, Marias?

[ For once, he's not trying to go for a smarmy quip. He seems legitimately curious - and moreover, respectful. ]

[Isabel sniffs loudly and it looks like she's gonna cry again, but she holds it in.]

*in lieu of an immediate congratulations in person, Suguru probably got dragged back to the bar after the failed attempt of not sobbing at your win.

So she sent you a message.

"Hey, Isabel.

I think we both know you're not gonna be in any shape for festivities, but rest assured, I'm gonna have a party all set up and waiting for you once you're good and ready.

Congratulations. I really can't begin to say how happy I am to see you win-- or to have had the chance to witness you winning in person.

Also if Geo tries to claim I started crying too after you won, he's spreading slander and will be bopped on the head appropriately.

...you were here with me when I needed you the most. [She smiles. She raises the title up and presses it to her head. She sobs a little bit. When she speaks again, her voice cracks.]

I really wish mom was here to see this...but I'm really happy, too.

...I'm sure she's watching, and as proud as I am.

I've been busy with family and work, but I figured you might enjoy this.

::The canister smells like Gatorade.::

[She's leaving with her dad, they're probably on the way to his car.

She stares at Jinn for a moment.

Then she reaches out and hugs him.]

My whole body is one big mass of bruises and crying right now, so yeah, the party is gonna have to be on hold for a few days. But trust me, I can't wait.

Thank you. I can't tell you how much it means to me to have had you here with me up until this point. I'll try and see you in person soon.

And if Geo tries to pass that garbage by me, I'll knee him in the stomach, don't worry.
